Changed Broker – now on Alpari

I have just changed the IVYBot robot to Alpari Broker since with Basic FX it the robot was a complete disaster.  I had another big loss trade of -$112.

I am reading elsewhere that the robot is doing good trades.  Jusat few hours ago our friend Teodore has posted his experience / results in this blog – see comment here - Ivybot Settings.  I have also taken Teodore advice and changed the broker.

I don’t know if the broker plays a very important role in the case of this robot, since IVYBot should be a long term trading robot – but anyway let’s see.

Up for next post and if someone have good / bad experience with this robot please go ahaead and post here.

David, for now I bet everyone is using the default settings. It is too early right now to start fooling around with settings, especially considering that the robot is being profitable as is.

And I don’t believe much on back tests.

    August 17, 2009 | 3:11 pm

yea back tests are kinda useless from my perspective…I mean the market now has probably nothing with to do with how the market was in 2003…The IvyBot dudes are supposed to update the bot to the current conditions…so theoretically back tests might even be a total disaster, since the settings in IvyBot will not apply to the past market condition.

Just try the Alpari account like every1 else…throw in $500 in there!!

I just closed my first trade with the IVY BOT on metatrader……I had 100.oo in a demo account and it lost 51.00 on the first trade for me….I started another account with 1000.00 to see how that would go….Will it do better if I use an Alpari US account? Even though it is the same software?

    Hi Mike,

Loosing 50% of the account in 1 trade is not good, is very bad in fact. How much where the lots? 0.1, 0.2 etc?

Alpari UK and Alpari US although same company, have different spreads. Alpari UK yesterday introduced flexible spreads and basically made one of my robots useless. Alpari UK should be better for robots.

Please keep updating us on your results for a mutual benefit for everyone in this blog, since at the end of the day we are all trying to make this robot work.

yea the loss was unbelievable I was surprised the built in stop loss waited so long…..so far the new account with 1000.00 in it has not made any trades….the other account with the big loss was .1 lots…..the new one is also running on default settings with .1 lots….I am planning on staying with this broker (metatrader) for 3 weeks then switching to alpari for 3 weeks and if I am not happy with either I will return the BOT.

    Hi Mike,

To answer your previous question, yes 0.1 is good for $1000.

I had the above happened to me as well, and kept the trades open, than closed at a loss, but this all robots do it! That is why sometimes you need to take over.

My Alpari US account didn’t open a trade today either ?

    Hi Linus.

No one got any trades last week, even on different brokers such as FXDD. Mind you Alpari UK have better spreads.

However with the introduction of variable spreads, during low activity (asian market often) the spreads are a nightmare – very high!

I’m with Alpari US. if that makes a diffrence. and I noticed some trades have been open today with other brokers using mt4 platform.
I hope it isn’t a on going problem I wrote support about it .

I have the same open trade on Alpari US. It didn’t open a trade on USD/CHF. But I know someone using a diffrent brokerage who got that trade to open ? so far USD/CHF is in profit , while USD/JPY is at a stand still on the lossing end

yuppp…Glad to know someone else is in the same boat….but I am curious why the UK Alpari did not open the proffitable trade?

50.00? Mine never got that bad and it just closed thi morning for a 22.00 LOSS. So thus far the Ivy Bot has been positve in 2 trades for me but each time has not closwed them and all three of my trades have been losses. Also each trade has immediately gone negative and had to work it’s way back….which isnt my stle becaause I don’t mind shooting for a 10 to 20 profit on a trade but that means my stop loss would have to be very low (5) and with this bot it would hit every time….so far the bot doesnt make ay since to me…

mine went to -35 pips…didn’t reach the 50…eventually closed to -$12.

I don’t think this robot really work..lets give it another week. Funny enough this morning got an email that this robot works – from a ‘respectable’ site, then it was referring to another site which everyone knows that is a scam site, and basically this ‘respectable’ site lost my confidence completely. :)

This is why I will be launching a new blog…just an honest site on these robots and other systems..too much crap and lies out there unfortunately … pity

yea so far I cannot figure out a way to set a stop loss and take profit so that I can leave this bot running and not worry. I plan on keeping the demo going until about 50 days of the 60 dya gurantee are gone then I will return it….has anyone found a bot that worked for just small profits? I don’t need to get rich just some extra money would be great. or is there a way to make the ivy bot more safe?

USD/JPY trade went into a $25.00 profit when I should have gotten out .
But I stayed and it went as bad as $300.00 negitive , so when it went down to something alittle more acceptable I was going to get out . Other person got out with $293.00 loss . if it was buy signal it would have been a good trade . I wonder if IVYBOT can produce a buy signal in USD/JPY ? it seems to only want to short it at terrible levels

What happened with the USDJPY trade for me @ 0.1 lots, was that it first went up slightly, but since it was in a downtrend I knew that if the swing broke the last high then it would be a disaster. I looked at my indicators, and they all pointed that the trend was going down, soon enough it went down to about $20-25 profit..only to encounter what I thought would be a slight resistance, unfortunately it turned the market around and IvyBot did manage to exit with a $19 loss. The target was $82 in this case, so losing $19 for a $82 profit, is worth it.

On the USDCHF what happened was the trade was 100% dead on, entered at the perfect time, and it went down right to about $63-64 profit … UNFORTUNATELY the market made a rebound and found resistance at that level JUST missing the $66 Take profit target… the trend rebounded and stayed at about $25-30 profit, for a couple hours, until IvyBot decided to take the profit at $28.

Kinda unlucky that it didn’t reach the $66…otherwise it would have been an awesome trade.

What I did manually, through the help of indicators, was that I realized that the $28 level was probably going to be a pivot point and then it would go back down, hopefully breaking that last target it missed of $66.

So I went ahead and took the trade, The 4hr and Daily charts were at 80-100% accuracy of it being a downtrend. I left it on over night, and this morning the prediction was correct, it did break the $66 level, and I managed to make a $55 profit (0.25lots) from that level that the IvyBot closed its trade (it went down after a while).

I think that the IvyBot is make dead on trades, when I line it up with all my indicators. I just started manual trading last week or so, after I read some manuals, and got a bunch of cool indicators…I pretty much get 70%+ positive trades. and the negatives are usually 50-75% smaller than the positive trades.

But I still feel good about IvyBot :D

    September 1, 2009 | 5:54 pm

So do you think the large majority of ivy bot trades should be used then closed once they get some profit going since generally they seem to not trigger the take profit? All of mine witht the bot have gone to a loss right of then come back.

Hi Marcus, thanks for the comment

I am launching / launched a new blog and this will be big. Have many ideas to do in it and eventually it will grow big. I am fed up with all these shit of people that steal other people’s money, like for example yesterday a new robot was launched and it is just a joke – $18051.97 in one trade is a complete joke. You need $10 Million account to do so, and if you have this huge account, I don’t see why you need this robot. :)

The idea of the blog is to review as many products as possible – provided they passed my first filter criteria, and HONESTLY reviewing them like we are doing with IVYBot. This way I hopefully help people stay away from bad crap shit scam products and buy products which are of value to your money.

Yes Forex Decimator is being tested / reviewed and you will find everything here. There is also statement of how it is doing. It is doing well to be honest.

    Forex Decimator Review

    The blog is:
    Forex EA reviews.

Is not yet fully functional, but it is getting up good – it is not yet fully launched :)

I read on another forum that someone is in a new open trades.
And I have none only the one that lost a few days ago USD/JPY. It is starting to bother me that some people get open trades while other have none. I’m runningIVYBOT on a host as to not miss trades , but it seems to miss them anyway. on my MT4 platform on Alpari US account??

It is not only you… mine and other peoples Ivy Bothave also missed trades that other Ivy’s have gotten…..Currently I am waiting for a trade…only the loss i discussed earlier. Sor far I have mixed feelings on the bot but at this point I will return it

I think a solution might be to just set the take profit slightly lower, maybe half?

As far as the Stop Loss… This SL it hit on the USD JPY was a nice one… before it hit a large one of about -$100 or so … so $19 loss is actually not bad… If you win only 50% of the trades you would still be in profit, if the S/L stands at about 20 pips and profit is 40-60 pips

…not open trades with IvyBot for today…

but last night I was in a HUGE trade on the EURJPY, in case you don’t know, the EURJPY is in a HUGE downtrend right now, Im looking to take another selling position when I find a good pivot point!!

Last night I entered the market around 132.075 … Left it on over night, I initially wanted to Take Profit at 131.100 , but forgot to set it… so when I woke up, I see a $212 trade open :D (0.25 lots) … so I took a look at what was going on in the market…and it just reached a low point, but not as low as the previous low…it bumped to $160 or so in profit, waited patiently…and sold it when it broke to 131.200 @ $228 … after that it went up again, I figured it would :)

Wondering why IvyBot wasnt taking part in this strong downtrend… hmm…
Looks like Im beating IvyBot in trades, I made only 7 trades so far, all profitable, total $655 @ 0.25 lots

There is also this bot I found (martingale style) thats working wonders!!!

I setup the account on Alpari UK $3000 start @ 0.01 lots
In 1 week its up at $3979 :) The reason I set it to $3000 is because in a bad streak the trades go at -$600 to -$800. It is martingale afterall …But It hasn’t made a whipeout yet!! If any1 else wants to test this bot with me, on a different pair, let me know… so far Im doing the AUDUSD pair :)

The cool thing about his bot is that it trades NON STOP every 30sec-1min it probably opens a new trade, and has up to 9 trades running at once…the biggest trade is maxed at 1.10 Lots… so you dont wipe out ur bankroll too quickly :)

If ur interested, just leave a comment here…

    CHEERS!!
